He thought the boat would never stop rocking, his grip on Frank's arm tightened as the raft lurched to one side then the other. Another sharp dip and he was in Frank's arms, their heads connected painfully and Joe could only moan as stars briefly exploded in his vision. He felt Frank push him back gently holding him up by his shoulders. "You ok?"

Frank's voice was lost in the noise of the ocean and thunder crashing all around them.  Joe shook his head trying to clear it but to no avail, what was wrong with him? He'd been feeling weird all day, sleepy almost groggy sleepy, his mouth was constantly dry and to top it all off this dumb headache wouldn't go away, it was only worsened by the accidental head bop.

"Frank, I see land! We're close!" Bev's voice carried over the group and Frank sat up straight keeping an arm around Joe's waist. "Try and steer towards it."

He'd never gotten sea sick before but right now- He made a sickening noise and curled closer to Frank laying his head on his brother's shoulder. It was wet and cold but it was something unmoving and steady. "We're almost there Joe," he heard Frank shout in his ear. "Just hang in there."

He wanted to feel land under his feet so badly right now, Joe clenched his eyes shut trying to ignore the vertigo that was taking over his senses. He couldn't tell if it was his vision that was going or if they really were moving in circles.

Frank felt Joe's grip lessening and he worried that Joe was slipping out of consiouncess, he didn't question why he just wanted to make sure Joe wasn't going head first into the churning waters. "Wake up, Joe. Don't you dare go out on me now. I can't steer this raft and keep you afloat at the same time."

Joe didn't move, a rocking of the raft caused his arm to slide off Frank's shoulder, it swung limply. He could feel Joe's head slipping and Frank quickly stopped rowing and caught Joe right before he toppled off the raft. "Bev, I need a hand, Joe's out. I can't steer and hold him at the same time."

"Grab the paddle," Bev told her blonde companion. "I'll help Frank with Joe." Carefully the blonde stewardess crawled over the short distance to Frank and took the steering oar. She watched out of the corner of her eye as Frank let Beverly help him in getting Joe to a safe spot.

"Frank, what happened?"

"I have no idea," He responded blinking rain out of his vision. He placed two fingers on Joe's neck to make sure there was a pulse, finding one he relaxed slightly. "He's alive."

Beverly let out a sigh of relief as well and looked over her shoulder, "There, look! An island!"

"Prepare yourselfs we're coming up on the sand."

"Hold Joe, I'm going to help pull the rafts up onto the beach."

*~*

An hour later and things for the most part had calmed down inside the little cave they were in. Joe had awoken but was incoherent and almost delirious. Frank was worried, Joe wasn't ill before they boarded the flight, a little moody but nothing out of the normal.  He'd stayed with his brother as Beverly and her friend tended to the other girls.

Beverly came and fell to her knees an hour later beside Frank who just trying to keep Joe calm. "How is he Frank?"

"Scared and delirious. I just can't figure out what caused him to black out like that. He was fine before we left Bev, how are the other girls?"

"Scared and worried that we're not going to survive. We have to watch ourselves and them, if we don't take care of our bodies we'll be suffering from Dehydration in no time."

"Can Dehydration cause a fever to randomally pop up?"

"I …I don't see why not. Why do you ask, Frank?"

"Joe has all of the other symptoms, that's why he was so lethargic today. I couldn't figure out why he was so tired when just last night he was so excited about the game."

"Let me get him a ration of juice, maybe that'll help a bit then. If nothing else it will give him some energy." Bev stood up and went over pulling out a giant can of orange juice. She pierced a hole with the can opener and poured a small cup full of juice. She then walked back over and helped Frank sit his brother up.

"Joe, drink this, it'll make you feel better." Frank said watching Joe's face for any facial regonition. "Joe, please for me? Drink something."

"Frank, he's got to drink this by himself, if we force it down he could choke."

Then a soft weak call of Frank's name broke through the struggle. Joe tried to lift his head off Frank's shoulder but was too weak to do so. "Joe?"

"W…Where are we?" Joe's voice was hoarse and barely understandable. "Frank? Beverly?"

"Here, first drink this, it's juice." Frank took the cup from Beverly and held it up to Joe's lips. He tilted it slightly and Joe's lips opened partially to let a little bit of the sweet liquid through. He pulled away burying his face in Frank's chest coughing. "Joe, you need to drink all of it."

"No, it burns."

"It's because you are dehydrated, you need to drink this." Frank said forcibly. "You can go back to sleep as soon as you finish this cup." It worried him that Joe couldn't even finish a mini dixi cup full of juice by himself.

Slowly but surely the juice was drank down little by little. The storm was still exploding outside and each clap of thunder caused a shiver to run up Joe's spine and a whimper to escape the wind chapped lips.

Don't own anything. xD except the idea to re-write it. Why re-write it? It's too easy. :) that's why.
